Man charged following collision in Doncaster

A man has been charged following a police pursuit and collision in Doncaster in the early hours of Tuesday 18 May.

Damien Blackburn, 28, of South Street, Highfields, has been charged with dangerous driving, driving without a licence and driving without insurance after a collision shortly after midnight.

The pursuit ensued after a white BMW reportedly failed to stop in York Road. It then travelled through Woodlands, before police deployed tactical contact to bring the car to a stop on Green Lane, at the junction with Roman Ridge.

The five passengers of the vehicle were all initially detained and later released under investigation.

Blackburn appeared in court on Wednesday 19 May, and was bailed to next appear on 16 June.
